Touch them with caution.

Most people habitually touch some parts of the body. This has some health implications they are not aware of.

We daily go to different places, touching items such as chairs, tables, money etc. Bacteria could easily be picked from these surfaces and transferred to some sensitive parts of the body.

1. Your eyes: Eyes are delicate, soft, moist and contain a liquid substance thus making it easy for germs to be absorbed. Avoid touching your eyes with your bare hands.

2. The skin under your nails: Don’t pick the dirt stuck in your fingernails with your hands. It contains loads of germs that could either be pushed further into your nail bed or transferred to a cut or wound on your skin and lead to complications.

3. Your mouth: Your mouth is a major gateway to your body. Those who indulge in the habit of cutting their fingernails with their teeth stand the risk of transferring bacteria from dirty fingernails and fingers to the mouth and body system.

4. Your Butt: Being the passage through which undigested foods are discharged, the anus contains bacteria. Avoid scratching your anus with excess toilet tissue because this passage is delicate and can be easily injured. Always wash your hands after using the toilet.

5: Your ear canal: The thin skin covering your outer ear is sensitive and can be ruptured easily by fingers such that dirt is pushed into the inner chamber of the ear to cause an ear infection. When itching you, carefully use a cotton bud or a clean napkin to clean your ears.
